What is Yoga Nidra?

Yoga Nidra, also known as divine rest, begins with a guided meditation that takes you to that sweet spot of being almost, but not quite asleep. The body is completely relaxed, and this trance-like state allows you to connect with your inner world like never before.

To assist with establishing a calm and peaceful mindset, I often incorporate a brief 10- to 20-minute Yoga Nidra practice into individual therapy sessions. At the beginning of a session, it’s a great way to quiet the mind, become present, and leave daily life stressors behind.

Similarly, at the end of a particularly emotional session, it’s a great opportunity for setting new intentions and establishing an overall sense of well-being before heading back out into the world.
